First Visit

First Visit

Most patients who visit California Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center for the first time receive an oral exam and consultation. This appointment helps us discuss your diagnosis and determine the appropriate treatment plan that is right for you. A simple procedure may even be performed on the day of the consultation for some patients, but most will need to return to our practice on another day for their procedure.

You can expect diagnostic images, such as X-rays and 3D scans, to be taken and reviewed during this appointment. If you have recent diagnostic images from your general dentist or referring specialist, please remember to bring these with you to this appointment. Other items you will need to bring to this appointment include

  • Health and/or dental insurance information
  • Referral slip from your dentist or other referring specialist
  • List of medications you are currently taking (heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)
  • A valid driver’s license or other form of identification
  • Form of payment (credit card, checkbook, etc.)

If the patient to be treated at California Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must be present for this first appointment.

Some medical conditions may be of concern prior to surgery. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc., please let us know as soon as possible. We want to ensure your safety and provide the best course of treatment.

Please arrive a few minutes early to your first appointment. This will allow you sufficient time to check-in and complete any additional paperwork.

If you have any questions or concerns about your first appointment at California Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center, please contact our office. We are happy to help.
